The Renovation Journey, finding the riad

The Renovation Journey

A little help from friends

When entering a Riad for the first time from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech entering a calming courtyard is an experience in life you must try. At Riad BE Marrakech is certainly one Riad that blows you away with its unique and awe-inspiring boho vibe. The myriad of vibrant patterns, colours and textures has landed @bemarrakech on the bucket list of many world travellers, bloggers, fashion magazines, TV channels and advertising the world over! Riad Botanica will be joining the neighbourhood and we are honoured to have had Nicole and Mohamed’s support throughout this project and we will continue to collaborate with them!

BEMARRAKECH
NICOLE & ANGELA

The dream to own and run a Riad guest house began a decade ago. This was fueled by dear friends Nicole and Mohamed, who opened the doors of their own Riad, @bemarrakech. Having been there as friends through their journey, watching from humble beginnings through to seeing them expand their properties and, in doing so, bring their dreams to life. I have witnessed and had the pleasure of sharing much of the fun and excitement and seeing a LOT of their hard work!

As the dream began to grow and vision started to come into focus, the search began for the perfect riad. With each visit to Morocco, I’d learn more about the areas that would suit tourists best ..“All roads lead back to the Medina and Bab Doukkala”. The challenge is made up of; I don’t speak any other language than English 🙁 the rules are if you borrow money from banks in Morocco, your money must say in the country. Including all profits from the future sale of the property. Finding a Riad is a needle in a very large haystack- which is full of Milkea properties (which I will explain later) Here is a little glimps of the beautiful haystack! One of my favourite views in Marrakech overlooking the Medina rooftops and gardens.
