Staying at the Riad Botanica, gave me the possibility to meet first hand the Moroccan people, talk to them, discover their culture and all in an almost family atmosphere.

Riad Botanica is an experience for all five senses that makes staying at Riad Botanica a unique stay:

- Smell: From the moment you enter you are overcome by the citrus scent of the orange tree in the middle of the courtyard.
- Sight: Its impeccable decoration makes you want to discover every corner of the Riad: its patio, its swimming pool, its rooftop...
- Touch: The comfort of its beds and cushions, the softness of its sheets and towels, makes you feel at home (or better hehe).
- Taste: The delicious traditional food they prepare makes you discover Morocco in the quietness of your accommodation.
- Hearing: The only sound you hear in the Riad, are the birds fluttering around the courtyard and the chill out music that plays discreetly in the background.

Thanks to the location of the Riad Botanica, you can reach all the sites with a pleasant walk. It is less than 10 minutes walk from Le Jardin Secret, 15 minutes from the Koutoubia Mosque or the Jemaa el-Fna Square and about 20 minutes from the most modern area of Marrakech.

The owner and host, Mohamed is so kind and friendly, and makes sure you are well taken care of. As I was a solo female traveler on my first trip to Morocco, the kind gestures made me feel safe, including that my first day, he called to check on me as I had been exploring the city all day long.

The interior decoration is absolutely breathtaking, and the sound of the sweet birds in the courtyard make it seem like the perfect peaceful respite from the bustling city. The rooms are gorgeous, the showers amazing.

Also- the staff deserves 10 stars! Fatima, the chef cooks an amazing breakfast each day. It was literally my favorite part of each day! The lunch and dinner were also amazing at Riad Botanica! (Even tho I tried other restaurants in the city, by far - Fatima’s cooking was my favorite). And the sweet housekeeping lady, Sanaa was also wonderfully kind and always smiling. 🙂

The rooftop is beautiful and such a peaceful place to read a book and lounge.

Location is perfect in my opinion! Close enough to walk to most of the museums. Walk to the souks. Yet, I did appreciate that is was not too close to the Jemaa el-Fnaa square- which is a very busy place. I could still walk there in about 25mins

I ate dinner on the rooftop on one night of my stay, and aside from the beautiful sunset and the beautiful sounds of the call to prayer, the food was exceptional. Authentic home-cooked Tagines and delicious side dishes and breads made for a meal so wonderful my husband is still talking about it! Special thanks to Chef Fatima for the love and talent she pours into every dish. Also, breakfast deserves a special mention too.

The location is perfect, a ten minute walk to Le Jardin Secret, rooftop restaurants and cafes, incredible shops and boutiques selling good quality items and also an abundance of traditional Moroccan Hammams. The area is so safe, with locals stopping to help you if you look lost!

The owners Angela and Mo were so kind and helpful to my husband and me, providing recommendations of places to eat and visit, local info on what we should be paying for taxis to our excursions, and generally just checking in on us and making sure we were having a good time. Which we certainly were!
