Salam and a heartfelt welcome to you.

My name is Mohamed, and I am deeply honored to welcome you to Marrakech—my beloved home and the soul of our retreat. Born and raised in this city of magic, I take immense pride in sharing the warmth, hospitality, and traditions of Morocco with every guest we receive.

In this photo, you see me doing something that brings me great joy—making traditional Moroccan tea while wearing our customary attire. This is more than a ritual; it’s a symbol of connection, a way to say, “You are welcome here. You are family.”

Many years ago, a spirited traveler from Australia—Angela—wandered into the souks. She was lost. I offered her help, not knowing that moment would lead to a life changing encounter, a marriage a fusion of cultures, a life in Australia and a life here in Morocco, a beautiful family and eventually, a dream realised: Riad Botanica.

Together, Angela and I have created not only an award-winning riad inspired by our cultures but we are now excited to share Marrakech Retreats Co.—a series of soulful experiences rooted in community, well-being, and discovery.

Muse Marrakech inStyle with Claire Cau-Cecile (our helping interior designer) and Artisan of the Soul with Annika Glac are retreats born from our passion We look forward to helping people reconnect to themselves, enjoy being in my country and I hope to help provide a truly authentic Moroccan immersion. Through our retreats and moments—you’ll experience Morocco not as a tourist, but as a guest of the family.
