The Brands We Work With

Thank you

At Riad Botanica, we have been honoured and proud to collaborate with some of the most talented creatives and brands in the industry from Morocco to Australia. Our branding and marketing are guided by the exceptional expertise of Ex Animo, while Claire Cau-Cecile helped to bring elegance to our interiors. For stunning wallpapers and design fabrics, we trust the heritage and innovation of Florence Broadhurst and Materialised. Our textiles and throws are sourced from St Albans, known for their luxurious craftsmanship, and The Moroccans designed our clothing and Riad cosmetics with a unique blend of tradition and modern style. Our spaces are elevated by our signature scent, crafted exclusively by Air Aroma, creating an unforgettable sensory experience for our guests. In addition, Laura Oczos, artwork and Kaz Morton’s ceramic hands and baby oranges add a touch of artistry to our Riad in the heart of Marrakech.

We are deeply appreciative of the continuous support from artists such as Natalie Begg, and Thalia, who have believed in us since day one. This journey wouldn’t be possible without the incredible talent and collaboration of all these brands and artists, for which we are immensely grateful.

CREATIVE DESIGN
Florence Broadhurts

Florence Broadhurst holds a significant place in Australian design history, her legacy reverberating through the realms of interior design, fashion, and visual arts. Born in rural Queensland in 1899, Broadhurst’s journey to becoming an iconic figure in design was marked by resilience, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of beauty.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Florence Broadhurst’s impact on Australian design is her ability to transcend boundaries and blend diverse influences. Her early years saw her travel extensively through Asia, immersing herself in the rich tapestry of cultures, patterns, and colours that would later inform her work. Decades later she now spreads her design influence to Morocco!

TEXTILES AND WALLPAPERS

Since 1980, Materialised has brought innovative, high-performance furnishing textiles, wall covering and acoustic solutions to the Australasian contract interior design industry, with printing and warehousing taking place in the Sydney suburb of Blakehurst.

In 2009, access to a limited selection of the iconic Florence Broadhurst design library was made available to Materialised for Australasia, and in 2018 that became an exclusive full license for furnishing fabrics and wall covering.

CEO of Materialised, Belinda Price, worked with Angela Mellak and Claire Cau-Cecile on the Florence Broadhurst design requirements for the Riad Botanica. Belinda joined her family company in 1992 but her involvement in the textile industry dates to when she was very young, always keen to be involved, selecting and assorting fabric. She lives and breathes Materialised and is rarely seen without a spark in her eye for the next innovation.

“I have loved working with Angela and Claire, and to see this exceptional guest house come to life. Their design vision is truly remarkable, seamlessly blending aesthetics and functionality, and it perfectly reflects the strength of their brand in creating an unforgettable guest experience.” – Belinda Price.

CONTEMPORARY CERAMICS
Kaz Morton
Mornington Peninsula artist, Karen Morton is the maker behind ‘Kaz’. This Master of Fine Art graduate in painting and ceramics uses traditional techniques to create both functional and non-functional pieces. Inspired by the simplicity of everyday objects Karen invites us to take a closer look… Unexpected symbols, nostalgic linen and wallpaper patterns feature in her ceramics. In her work she seeks to explore and encapsulate the bewilderment of an undiscovered object or surface.

Karen likens the process of working in porcelain and resin to spending time with close friends, each material has its own personality. Porcelain is such a modest material to work with and the process is quiet organic whilst resin is more controlled. Both processes share a common thread whether opening a kiln door or de-moulding a bangle there is always that element of surprise in seeing the piece for the first time.
