Marrakech is known as the Red, or Rose City, owing to the deep, dusky pink tint of its ancient heart; on a clear day you can see the hazy peaks of the Atlas Mountains rising up to the south
in Morocco ..

Morocco also has a long history and passion for roses and celebrates this powerful and hypnotic plant each year in the M'Goun Valley – or the Valley of Roses, as it's known in Morocco – it has become famous for its flowers.

Every year during the main growing season between April and mid-May, the valley produces between 3000 and 4000 tonnes of wild roses.

The locals of the area celebrate this time with a festival of roses. It is a time for folk dancing, singing, celebrating, and feasting. Markets and souks display their finest products, and you'll be tempted to spend the entire day sampling new exotic foods and fresh rose produce, like jams and waters.

Each day before dawn, women gather the roses by hand and sell them to co-operatives dotted along the valley. Some are bought by local distilleries to make rose water, soaps and potpourri, but the majority are bought by big French perfume houses, for whom the M’Goun roses command a special cachet.

For thousands of years, Ayurvedic healers have been using the rose plant in herbal remedies, teas, oils and skincare formulations. It can be used as dried, preserved, juiced, distilled, or a as powder or tincture.

Has antioxidant activity

The story of Bacha Coffee begins in the medina of Marrakech, Morocco. Built in 1910, the spectacular Dar el Bacha palace, which means “house of the Pasha”, united the greatest cultural and political minds of the century over glittering pots of “coffee of Arabia” or Arabica, as it is known today. Guests included the writer Colette, composer Maurice Ravel, filmmaker Charlie Chaplin, entertainer Josephine Baker, US president Franklin Roosevelt and UK prime minister Winston Churchill, to name a few.

A TIME CAPSULE
After the Second World War, the palace was closed and became a time capsule, retaining some of the vestiges of a glamorous era within a building that was once awash with the colours and sounds of the surrounding medina — but had slowly fallen into a deep and enchanted sleep.

THE REBIRTH
Closed for over 60 years, this fine example of Moroccan craftsmanship has been awakened. Standing at the gates of the thousand-year-old medina of Marrakech, the makeover of the house of the Pasha was a feat not for the faint-hearted. After two years of painstaking restoration to bring back the sumptuous decor to its former glory, Dar el Bacha was reopened in late 2017 as the Museum of Cultural Confluences.

Once you enter you will see the signature matching french Egg chairs and iconic Australian designer @florencebroadhurst wallpaper. The wallpaper sets the room's style of hand-printed wallpaper from Sydney @materialised_ . The paper's complimentary colours to the Zeliege floors of oranges and pink speak to the various oranges and flowers in nature.

The room is located on the first floor and enjoys direct access to a sitting area and balcony overlooking the central courtyard to the pool. The room enjoys modern Australian design influences proportions and maximises the space and light. It enjoys much larger proportions than its original 10th-century edition.

The wallpaper by @materialised_ features the Peacock which symbolises beauty, masculinity, glamour, luxury, protection, versatility, renewal, awareness, and metamorphosis. The other bird here looks to be a Falcon which is a reminder to look ahead and focus on the future. Don't let your past experiences hold you back; use them as stepping stones to success.
