Terms, Conditions, Cancellation and Privacy Policy 

At Riad Botanica, each reservation holds special meaning. As a small, family-run Riad with only a few rooms, cancellations—especially close to the check-in date—can be difficult for us to manage as we hold the reservation booking and knock back other guests.

In order to manage our capacity as a small business we’ve crafted the following policy to balance guest flexibility. We kindly ask for your understanding and strongly encourage all guests to purchase travel insurance to protect their booking against unexpected changes or emergencies.

Our Cancellation Guidelines:

  • 30+ Days Before Check-in
    Plans change—we get it. Cancel anytime 30 days or more before your check-in date and receive a full refund, no questions asked.

  • 14 to 30 Days Before Check-in
    If you cancel between 14 and 30 days prior to arrival, 50% of the booking value will be charged.
    This amount is non-refundable, but we’re happy to offer it as a credit toward a future stay within 6 months (subject to availability and potential price adjustments).

  • 7 to 14 Days Before Check-in
    Cancellations made 7 to 14 days before arrival will incur a 100% charge.
    However, we’ll gladly apply 50% of your booking value as credit toward a future visit within 6 months. (subject to availability and potential price adjustments)

  • Less than 7 Days Before Check-in
    As a small property with limited rooms, we’re usually unable to rebook last-minute cancellations. Unfortunately, no refunds or credits can be issued for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in.

  • If you have booked via Airbnb, Expedia, Bookings please be aware of their Terms and Conditions as they also apply to the booking.

💚 Why This Matters

  • Unlike large hotels, we operate with just a handful of rooms, and maintain a personalised service.

  • All cancellation requests will be assessed based on seasonal demand.

  • Management reserves the right to make discretionary decisions regarding cancellations and refunds.

COVID Cancellation Policy

  • In the event of government-imposed lockdowns or travel restrictions, we can hold your booking as a credit for a future stay. Please note that our standard cancellation policies still apply.

  • If you are unwell, self-isolating, or quarantining, we kindly ask that you contact us as soon as possible so we can assist in looking at options for your stay.

When you book a stay with us, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.

Reservation & Payment

  • Your reservation is not confirmed until full payment has been received.

  • Booking directly through our website (riadbotanica.com) guarantees the best rates. Platforms such as Expedia, Airbnb, and Booking.com charge significant fees, which we must pass on. Booking directly helps us run our business sustainably, keeps your money in the local community, and supports small businesses rather than global corporations.

  • Payment methods include Direct Deposit or PayPal. Payment details will be provided upon reservation request. PayPal payments can be made directly at riadbotanica.com.

Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in: From 2 PM (or earlier if your room is ready).

  • Check-out: 11 AM – because everyone loves a lie-in!

  • Late check-out is available upon request and subject to availability. Additional charges may apply; please discuss with our team.

Occupancy & Guest Policy

  • Bookings are for private stays only and must not exceed the stated maximum guest capacity per room (detailed on our website and booking confirmation).

  • No parties, events, or gatherings are permitted without prior approval from management.

  • Exceeding the agreed number of guests will result in immediate termination of your booking without refund. Additional guests will be charged, and any excess charges will be deducted from the credit card on file.

Housekeeping & Property Care

  • Daily room cleaning is provided, with linen changed every second night as part of our sustainable approach.

  • Riad Botanica is a beautifully restored historic property, originally built during the founding of Marrakech’s Medina in the 10th century and thoughtfully renovated in 2022 with local artisans’ craftsmanship.

  • We kindly ask guests to treat the property with care. If a room is left in an unreasonable condition, additional cleaning fees may apply.

  • Any damage or breakages must be reported immediately, and charges may be applied where necessary.

Cash & Tipping Culture in Morocco

  • Tipping is a common and appreciated practice in Morocco. While not obligatory, it is a kind way to show appreciation for excellent service.

  • Suggested tips:

    • Housekeeping & Staff: 10-20 MAD per day

    • Porters: 10-20 MAD per bag

    • Taxis: Round up the fare or add 10%

    • Guides & Excursions: 50-100 MAD per half-day tour

  • If you’re unsure, feel free to ask our team—we are happy to guide you on local customs.

Parking

  • Secure parking is available nearby but is not affiliated with Riad Botanica.

  • Vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk, and Riad Botanica assumes no responsibility for any loss or damage.

Children & Safety

  • We welcome children and infants; however, our pool is not gated.

  • Parents and guardians must ensure their children’s safety around water at all times.

Pet Policy

  • We are a pet-friendly riad and provide dedicated pet beds for your furry companions.

  • Guests are responsible for ensuring pets do not cause damage or excessive mess, which may result in additional cleaning charges.

Damage & Liability

  • Guests are responsible for any breakages, damages, or losses caused during their stay.

  • Any damage must be reported immediately, and costs will be assessed accordingly.

Smoking Policy

  • Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the riad, including courtyards and public areas.

  • Any violation will incur an automatic €1,000 penalty, charged to the credit card on file.

Personal Property & Liability

  • While we take every precaution to ensure your safety, Riad Botanica is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings during your stay.

  • We strongly advise guests to arrange personal travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances.
